WHAT I CAN TEACH

ME AS YOUR MENTOR

Multi-award-winning underwater photographer, featured globally. Owner of Liquid Shark Divers Fuvahmulah. SSI Open Water Instructor. Scubapro, Evolve Apnea and Weefine ambassador. What those credentials actually mean: I've put the reps in. I've made the bad images and figured out the better ones. I've taught the workflow enough times that I know where people get stuck. I came to diving from literature and philosophy, and I still believe the ocean is the greatest story we get to be part of. So learning with me — whether it's your first breaths on scuba, a specialty in shark ecology, deep diving, or a mentorship in underwater photography — is never just a checklist. It's a step deeper into a real relationship with the wild, the kind most people never get close enough to feel. If you want to make underwater images that move people — not just technically competent images, but work that has your voice in it — that's what we work on together. In the water, in the edit suite, or online from anywhere. In diving, I don't just teach you to breathe underwater and tick off skills. I teach you to belong down there — to stay calm and curious when a tiger shark glides past, to read the water, trust your body, and see the ocean the way it deserves to be seen. Plus, the learning doesn't stop when we surface. Some of my favorite teaching moments happen on the boat between dives, or over dinner during an expedition — because a lot of people don't just come for the whales and the sharks. They come to ask the bigger questions: how does a life like this actually work? Could it work for me? I'm always happy to open up my story — the personal side, the business side, everything 9 years out here has taught me. Not the polished highlight reel. Just what's true. The ocean changed everything for me. Come find out what it does for you.

A QUICK COMPARE

NOT SURE WHICH ONE?

Mentorship if…
Editing if…
You feel stuck and want to move.
You feel one specific thing in your workflow is off. You want to sharpen it.
You are on-site and want to make an investment in yourself.
You want something that fits into your regular week schedule.
You're tired of figuring it out alone.
You want to see if we click before we go any further.
You want real-life guidance and the ocean to be part of the change.
You want to prepare for your next trip and learn from anywhere via Zoom.
You want a mentor in your corner after your trip ends.
You want one or two focused sessions, and that´s it.

THE THINGS PEOPLE ASK FIRST.

A mentorship is the full thing — water, edit suite, and conversation, over multiple days. It's application-only and designed to change how you see and shoot, not just what you do in Lightroom. Editing coaching is the edit-suite piece on its own. Shorter. Focused. No in-water component. Same signature workflow, different depth. Mentorship transforms. Editing sharpens.
Yes — and most of my long-term clients do. A lot of people start with an editing coaching to test the workflow, then come to Fuvahmulah or Mo'orea for the full mentorship once they know what they're signing up for. But there's no expected order. Come through whichever door fits where you are right now.
Yes. Mentorships and online editing coaching both run in German if you prefer. I switch languages depending on what makes the teaching land better for you — sometimes we mix. My whole life is bilingual anyway.
No. For an editing coaching, you just need enough of your own images to work with — you don't need to be technically advanced. For mentorships, I shape the days around where you actually are, not where you think you should be. What matters more than skill level is the willingness to slow down and pay attention. The rest we work on together.
Primarily Adobe Lightroom Classic (as well as basic functions in Photoshop) — my signature workflow lives there. But let´s start with whatever you're already working in and I´ll adapt. If you're starting from scratch, we'll get you set up in Lightroom on day one.
For mentorships — as early as possible. I only offer very limited spots per season / per expedition, and the good weeks in Fuvahmulah go months in advance. For online editing coaching, the calendar usually has slots within 2–3 weeks. If you know your dates, apply now — I'd rather you're on the list early than wondering.
The full mentorship offering — tiers, philosophy, application form — lives on the Mentorship page. The editing coaching details — formats, pricing, calendar to book directly — live on the Editing page. If you're still not sure after reading both, email me at [email protected] and we'll talk it through.
