What those credentials actually mean: I've put the reps in. I've made the bad images and figured out the better ones. I've taught the workflow enough times that I know where people get stuck.
I came to diving from literature and philosophy, and I still believe the ocean is the greatest story we get to be part of. So learning with me — whether it's your first breaths on scuba, a specialty in shark ecology, deep diving, or a mentorship in underwater photography — is never just a checklist. It's a step deeper into a real relationship with the wild, the kind most people never get close enough to feel.
If you want to make underwater images that move people — not just technically competent images, but work that has your voice in it — that's what we work on together. In the water, in the edit suite, or online from anywhere.
In diving, I don't just teach you to breathe underwater and tick off skills.
I teach you to belong down there — to stay calm and curious when a tiger shark glides past, to read the water, trust your body, and see the ocean the way it deserves to be seen.
Plus, the learning doesn't stop when we surface.
Some of my favorite teaching moments happen on the boat between dives, or over dinner during an expedition — because a lot of people don't just come for the whales and the sharks. They come to ask the bigger questions: how does a life like this actually work? Could it work for me?
I'm always happy to open up my story — the personal side, the business side, everything 9 years out here has taught me. Not the polished highlight reel. Just what's true.
The ocean changed everything for me.
Come find out what it does for you.
