THE STYLE

THE DEEP BLUE I KEEP COMING BACK TO.

There's a reason my work looks like it does. The deep, saturated blues. The way the light feels both heavy and weightless at the same time. The mood that sits underneath every frame. It's not a preset. It's not one slider. It's a process — color by color, tone by tone, and a clear set of decisions made repeatedly until they become instinct. That's what I teach.

THE CURRICULUM

WHAT WE WORK ON.

COLOR

The deep-blue palette specifically. Where to push, where to pull back. How to keep blues from going muddy. White balance choices that hold up.

MOOD

The feeling underneath the frame. Contrast, shadow play, light direction in post. How to make a frame feel still, or heavy, or weightless.

STORY

Editing as storytelling. A single image vs. a body of work. How to edit a series so it reads as one voice.

WORKFLOW

My actual process from import to export. Lightroom Classic (or Capture One — whatever you use), my settings, my decisions, my speed. The repeatable system.

BEFORE YOU BOOK.

The workflow is identical — the difference is depth and format. Online is 45 focused minutes on 2–3 images, from anywhere, in English or German. On-site is longer-form: two hours to multiple days in my edit suite at LSD, working through whole series side by side. Many people start online, then book the edit suite when they come dive with the tigers.
Lightroom Classic is home base for my workflow (plus basic Photoshop where it helps), but Capture One works too — I adapt to what you use. Starting completely from scratch? Tell me when you book and we'll get you set up in Lightroom at the start of the session.
Then you have no bad habits to unlearn — honestly the easiest students. I shape every session to where you actually are. What matters isn't your current skill; it's the willingness to slow down and understand why an edit works, not just which slider moved.
Yes, with my permission — which I basically always give. I'd rather you rewatch the session than half-remember it. You'll also get written notes from me on each image within 48 hours, so nothing gets lost.
Up to 48 hours before your session: full refund or free reschedule, your pick. Inside 48 hours: reschedule yes, refund no — by then I've already reviewed your files and prepared your session notes.
Yes — if you're thinking in blocks (monthly sessions, a series over a season, follow-ups after a mentorship), message me and we'll shape a package that fits. Recurring students are my favorite way to work: that's where I get to watch a style actually form.
THE NEXT LEVEL

EDITING ALONE NOT ENOUGH?

Editing sessions are the lighter path — focused, specific, fast. But the real transformation in underwater photography happens when the shooting and the editing come together — in the same week, with the same person, on the same fish. If you want that — the full multi-day experience in the water and in the edit suite — the mentorship is the deeper door.
